If you need a really worthwhile goal for getting fit then it is a good idea to plan on doing a charity event. You could do something independently and plan a sponsored run, walk or other event and drum up the sponsorship money all by yourself. However, you could consider joining a charity event. There are lists of charity events, which tend to be walks and runs and you can represent your favourite charity and earn money for them. This is a great way to do something good but it should also inspire you to keep going with your training because you will know that you are going to earn money for a good cause. If you have an event that you are taking part in that that should act as a goal for you as well, encouraging you to keep up with your training better than if you had no goal. There may be a charity that you always support or one that you hold close to your heart. If so then take a look at their websites to see whether there are any events that they organise that you can run or walk. Doing a big event means that you will be with other like minded people which should encourage you to complete the course and make it a lot more fun
