The Android operating system is proving that it is able to power a variety of different kinds of phones. We are starting to see both phones that are considered to be low end and also phones that are considered to be very powerful running the Android operating system. And the powerful phones that it is powering are proving to be very impressive. There is only one problem with all of these powerful phones coming with the Android operating system. It is very hard to tell them apart. While they may all be powerful, they still all have very similar specs as well. This is why companies are starting to make their powerful phones have a certain segment that it targets. Just having the latest high grade specs is not enough anymore. Some of the powerful phones that are coming out are good at playing games while others are good at certain business functionality. The HTC Evo is a phone that specializes in playing media.

But all phones that come out these days play media?
While it is true that mostly all of the phones that come out these days play media files, some are better at it than others. It really all depends on what the creator of the phone decides to specialize in. And the HTC Evo really specializes in playing media files.

When you take a look at just the audio side you will see that the phone is able to play a lot more audio media formats than the other smart phones out there. Besides the ability to play the standard MP3, AAC, and WAV format, it also does M4A, QCP, WMA, MIDI, AMR and many more. If you have an audio file then there is a good chance that this phone will be able to play it. The HTC Evo also has excellent speakers at its disposal. When you do not feel like putting headphones on to listen to music, you do not have to. The speakers on the phone have a stereo sound that is good enough for you to enjoy listening to. Speaking of headphones, the HTC Evo has two different types of jacks to plug headphones in, mini 3.5 mm and Micro USB. This allows you to use a variety of headphones that are on the market right now.

Besides the audio section of the phone you will find that the video section is excellent as well. The screen size is 4.3 inches. This is big enough that it will allow you to enjoy a movie or TV show that you are watching without straining your eyes. Also, it is running the latest in WVGA technology. This will of course make the picture stand out more than it usually would. The screen also allows you to watch the phone at different angles. With other Android based phones if you are at a side angle you cannot see the screen as well as when you stand in front of it. The new HTC Evo 4g helps alleviate that problem. Since you have the ability to watch and store movies on the phone, why not the ability to plug it into a large HDTV screen as well. Well with this phone you can do that as well with the mini HDMI plug-in that comes with it.

So as you can see, there are a lot of media features that come with the phone that you are sure to enjoy. These days, as we said earlier in the article, there are a large amount of smart phones that will allow you to watch and listen to media. But a phone which takes that ability seriously is one that will allow you to truly enjoy it.

“Lower your ping” – that’s the usual sales pitch put across by proxy providers that cater to gamers. However, what many of them fail to mention is that they only support a limited number of games and most of those are MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games).

They often forget to mention too that their services only support TCP-based games. This means that in actual fact, most of these services really only support a very small number of games. Trying to improve your latency in a UDP-based game like the newly-launched World of Tanks? Forget it!

Take heart, fellow gamers! A new service provider has promised to support virtually any game on the market. Be it a FPS (First-person Shooter), RPG (Role-Playing Game) or RTS (Real Time Strategy). And most interestingly, FixMyLag.com claims to be the only service that supports UDP-based games on top of the usual range of TCP-based games! A bold claim for sure!

Furthermore, we’ve been told that they’re also the only provider in the market that includes a VPN (Virtual Private Network) account in their package. This allows users to full protect their privacy when accessing the internet at public Wireless Hotspots since VPNs encrypt data packets and foil traffic sniffers from cyber-criminals. They also allow non-US residents the enjoyment of US-only services like Hulu.com and Netflix.com.

There are a number of proxy providers out there but this certainly seems to be a service that attempts to break out of the mold and yet provide it all at a relatively low price of $9.80. Whilst we have yet to actually try this service ourselves, it is one worth considering for any serious gamer.

I am sure most of us can remember back to these days when the most technological thing on our phones was ‘snake. In fact the older people amongst us may remember the days before mobile phones even had the text message facility. That’s right; mobile phones were originally just that – portable ways to make phone calls. Now a days of course they offer so much more.

Even the most basic mobile phones now usually come with colour screen, an array of games and a decent digital camera built in. Of course the type of camera that you get and the other added extras that are built in depend on your budget. These phones are available on the high street and will sort most people who want a mobile phone just for making and receiving calls.

However you can step it up a gear and go for a newer smart phone. These mobile phones are probably best likened to a mini laptop. For example the Blackberry has a way to receive and send emails using push technology (you can send and receive them immediately). You can also browse the internet, download applications to use the likes of Yahoo and MSN messenger and even download maps to help you find your way. This comes on top of the usual digital camera, phone book, games and other extras that mobile phones come with as standard.

These smart phones (such has the iPhone) come with the facility to download applications. That means that you can download features for your phone to make it even better for you. These will be different to the applications your friends and family have because they suit you. Mobile phones now come with some many extras that they are simply more than just a mobile phone.
